Built out manufacturing, quality, test and prototyping teams to enable the development of specialized autonomous hardware. The team had a broad range of expertise including, optics, lasers, high speed compute and automotive. In under 2 years the team grew from 5 to over 40 engineers. My team supported over 20 separate projects through prototype builds, supplier selection, manufacturing setup and functional test.

Joined as the 35th member of the Level 5 team and during that time, I built out the prototype lab and team, developed the supplier evaluation process and led all manufacturing efforts. I was also a key contributor to the Magna international partnership and acted as point for all engineering engagement with Magna

Successfully moved production of Lumo Back sensor from domestic producer to large-scale overseas contract manufacturer. Negotiated all component pricing and delivery with distributors and manufacturers.Established all international logistics and import systems. Selected and managed 3PL facilities both domestic and abroad. Responsible for all vendor selection based on pricing, risk, and capability assessments.Negotiated all contract terms and pricing with outside manufacturers and contractors.Manage all compliance testing and requirements for North American, EU and Asia Pacific markets. Manage all logistics for major retailers including Amazon and Apple.

Manage development process from concept to final mass production for over 60 new items per year, ranging in complexity from toys to software-enabled wireless electronics. Successfully manage a purchasing budget of over $100 million per year. Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery requirements with over 200 Chinese manufacturers across multiple product categories. Achieved a 95% on-time delivery rate for orders totaling over 40 million units per year.Work with engineers and manufacturing teams to create technical specifications for all new items. Select and manage multiple industrial design contractors.Led selection and implementation of new project management software.
