A hands-on engineer that is eager to form part of the project design team from conceptual design through to construction completion. With over 15 years of industry experience on complex renovation projects to large award-winning buildings, he has held true to designing structures that are safe, economical and structurally elegant. He has designed multifaceted structures in the institutional, residential, commercial, industrial, health care, transportation, retail and defense sectors. Known for his technical expertise, Michael has established skills in designing efficient structures with the appropriate material for the project, including: structural steel, reinforced concrete, aluminum, stainless steel, gauge metal, glass, natural stone, heavy timber, cross-laminated-timber (CLT), lumber and structural composite lumber.Michael is always excited to form part of the team that works toward project success. He understands that designing and constructing a building or structure is a collection of the efforts of owners, architects, interior designers, contractors, fabricators and engineers.Michael’s formal education includes a Master of Engineering (MEng) Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Toronto. In addition to his Master’s degree, Michael earned a University of Toronto Graduate Level Specialist Certification in Structural Engineering and a Specialist Certification in Management/Leadership. Michael has also obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Diploma of Technology (Dipl. Tech.) in Civil Engineering.Currently Michael holds the position of Principal and Senior Structural Engineer at ENGENICO.
