The role of Branch Manager is constantly evolving at RBC and I am fully embracing the change. Now more then ever the BM needs to continuously think outside the four walls and look to attract and grow new clients. I am responsible for all the day to day operations of running a location as well as sourcing new talent, growing and developing existing talent, and planning for the future.

My role is to work with my community manager to drive double digit growth for by own branch as well as strengthening the market as well. I manage the branch located at King and University which is right in the tech hub of Canada! Our location puts us across from Waterloo University and Laurier University as well. I work with my sales people to ensure they are prepared, focused and motivated to deliver a superior client experience.

My role consists of managing the front line staff that interact with our clients on a daily basis. I am clients first point of contact when they are looking establish goals. I also grow the branch with the Branch Manager in setting up new clients, looking for any growth opportunities and treating this as my own business.

The expectation of the role is to meet with high value personal clients and through a discovery conversation, identify needs and provide financial advice. My focus is to refer to partners where I see opportunities and to solidify client relationships. I always work to ensure that client needs are met and think of alternatives to satisfy their financial goals.

In addition to fulfilling mortgage, loan, credit card and investment needs I also opened accounts and was held accountable for problem resolution.

Responsibilities included serving clients, responding to inquiries, accepting deposits, cheque negotiation, selling travelers cheques, drafts and money orders. Activity extended to identifying and referring opportunities for additional bank services (Visa, RRSP’s, Mortgages).
