As part of another small team full of heavy hitters, we updated their aging dependency libraries and uncoupled a lot of their code, migrating them from synthetic to view binding, updating Apollo GraphQL, and updating their Kotlin library from 3 something to the latest version to take advantage of new, more advanced language features (i.e. flows), and begin integrating some Jetpack Compose features where it was advantageous. All of that while adding new feature sets, which made updates much faster, the developer's jobs easier, and eliminated some bugs that had been around a long time, producing much happier users.As a side project a few of us enthusiastic devs began rewriting the entire app using Jetpack Compose as a practical way to learn the new features, as well as integrate compose into the current app where it was both convenient and advantageous. In my "free time" at RSI got familiar with Docker and containers and started using them in dev ops, got pretty proficient with Identity Server 4 through Duende in C# (to get a better understanding of OAuth), I was working towards my AWS Developer Certification, and getting started learning .NET Maui for cross platform mobile app development.
