Involved with projects that work to foster TDM solutions for a vast client base, a group that includes workplaces and post-secondary institutions in the Greater Toronto Area (primarily associated with the Smart Commute program). Michael's portfolio primarily involved the following projects:Program Coordinator for the Active Switch, Health & Wellness Program - Active Switch, formerly known as the Activate Your Commute Program, is an engaging health and wellness program that focuses on motivating users to get from 'Point A to B' using active and healthy travel options. - Lead contributor to the development of the Active Switch website (www.activeswitch.ca); the site was re-launched in May 2014. - Michael was responsible for the daily operation of the website. This includes maintaining its functionality as well as handling customer service with users of the program. - Secondary contributor to all marketing and communications associated with the program.Lead contributor to large-scale reports - Most prominent are the 'Breaking the Cycle of Automobile Dependency' series and surveys associated with green building certification (LEED). - Contributed at all stages including establishing strategy, conducting primary (ground-level) research, data analysis and the writing of the reports.Co-creator and lead contributor to 'Commuter Shed Analysis' reports - In this endeavour, SustainMobility creates unique origin-destination maps using geographic information system (GIS) software to highlight where clusters of staff or students are commuting from daily; Michael's GIS background lead to the creation of this service. - Clients can provide more tailored TDM solutions to their staff or students using this valuable data.

As part of a TDM internship with the City of Mississauga, Michael's portfolio included the following:Facilitated a pilot project aimed at increasing public transit usage - With this project, individualized marketing techniques were employed in order to entice City employees to attempt using public transit. Personalized trip plans were created, in-person interviews were conducted and PRESTO cards were provided to the participant. - Michael presented the findings of this project at the 2012 ACT Canada Sustainable Mobility Conference in Hamilton, Ontario.Contributed to a parking study at the Hazel McCallion Campus of Sheridan College - In this role, Michael visited the campus several times per day over a course of several weeks to analyze parking behaviour at the campus.
