    The APPMA was established in 1983 with the objective to promote, integrate and foster participation and development at all levels of the packaging and processing machinery industry in Australia.My initial engagement was to assist the APPMA Board in the development of a strategic 2-5 year business year plan. Upon completion and acceptance of the plan the engagement evolved from consulting to the provision of management and implementation services to drive the growth and success of the Association resulting in the establishment of a part time General Management role. Working with the Board and a range of selected business partners in the areas of administration, events/exhibitions and industry publishing, the General Management responsibilities included:• Development and management of business partner and supplier relationships;• Financial planning, budgeting and management;• Implementation of the strategic business plan initiatives;• Provision of member services;• Co-ordination and implementation of the APPMA member and industry communication programs;• Attendance at international and domestic exhibitions and events;• Board reporting and ongoing financial and ASIC compliance.Over time the demands on the role expanded in response to the ongoing success and development of the APPMA resulting in my appointment as full time CEO effective 1 July 2021.

Between 2002 and 2009 became established as a key provider within the Craft and Gift Packaging Industry providing product and services Australia wide with the customer based including Spotlight,Lincraft, The Reject Shop, The Warehouse chain NZ and 300 plus independnt retailers. The role required a progressive evolution of all aspects of the business to ensure the business development and sales growth was supported by robust, reliable and scalable operations while also delivering annual net profit targets.
