Sr. Director, Strategic Finance
My team and I were responsible for the finance side of DoorDash's Corporate Development work - M&A, Investments, and Business Development Partnerships. Our work spanned from preliminary perspectives on spaces and companies before formal engagement to diligence and through to integration and ensuring we realize our goals from the acquisition. During this period, we acquired Wolt ($8B), BBot (undisclosed), and Chowbotics (undisclosed), led a $750M investment round in Flink, invested in an undisclosed additional number of companies, and evaluated countless other opportunities for M&A/Investment. This was a new team and function for DoorDash, however the team was disbanded in the November'22 RIF. Previously, I owned the P&L's for Caviar, Chowbotics, and DoorDash Kitchens as business units within DoorDash and was responsible for the Merchant Finance organization for a stretch as well. As finance owners for those business segments, our mission was to help guide the business to grow and learn faster and accomplish more using a strategic finance mindset to evaluate success and guide future initiatives and investments. I joined DoorDash 2 months prior to the Caviar acquisition and so those first two months were dedicated to close readiness and initial integration plans. Post-close, work was been spread across accelerating the business, completing integration, and building the financial tools to enable the right cadence and level of detail in monitoring and acting on all aspects of performance at Caviar. Chowbotics and BBot were a repeats of that process, but started with diligence and then negotiating the deal. Wolt as the biggest deal by far repeats the process and again started from our earliest days of engaging with Wolt and starting to form a perspective on the business through to extensive integration work.
