Delivered personalized instruction in the core content standards of mathematics to 5th through 7th graders to increase their performance on state wide exams. Sixty-six percent of the students tutored completed their tutoring program and received a free tablet for their effort. Subjects tutored: arithmetic, pre-algebra, geometry, and algebra.

One-on-one instruction of Kaplan’s proven test taking strategies to assist high school students maximize their performance on college entrance exams. Exams tutored: SAT and ACT.

Provided free instruction to middle school students in the Rialto Unified School District to increase their proficiency in the core content standards of mathematics.

Tutored college students for individual instruction in calculus, probability and statistics, differential equations, and higher level math.Earned certification as “Advanced Tutor” through the College Reading and Learning Association by completing 11 ½ hours of additional training including: workshops on study skills, tutoring techniques, learning styles, diversity sensitivity and disability awareness.Recognized by students and supervisor with an award for demonstrating excellence in tutoring. Only two such awards were given out of a total of over 50 tutors.

Pomona, Ca

Graded homework assignments and quizzes for two calculus classes with 30 students each.Created an Excel spreadsheet to organize students’ grades and calculate class averages.

Greater Los Angeles Area

Developed and implemented a program in MATLAB that utilized the "nonlinear shooting method" to obtain numerical approximations with high accuracy to a nonlinear differential equation with no known analytical solutions. Sought out patterns in the solutions to develop a generalized conjecture where previous research had not been attempted before.Presented findings to professors and mathematicians at the Joint Mathematics Meetings of the American Mathematical Society and Mathematical Association of America and the SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) National Conference.Wrote and edited a technical report using LaTex (mathematical typesetting program) detailing the results of our research. Focused specifically on the numerical methods section of the report.
