Metallbau Windeck GmbH is a leading steel and aluminum window manufacturer in Germany, main projects include large hotels, company headquarters or embassies around the world, turnover: €25 Mio, employees: 150• Developed an implementation plan for new ERP System; as a result, the company is now able to make faster decisions, prioritise projects more easily and can use collected data for efficiency analysis• Carried out process re-engineering for a time-recording system, in conjunction with the ERP system• Analysed factory supply chain processes, developed an implementation plan and introduced a scanning system for incoming supply and end products; main benefits are a reduction of paperwork during the production process, faster access to supply from the warehouse and measuring of performance

Providing consultancy support to ingenieurbüro grünert, a civil engineering company working for local councils. I was brought in to streamline the process for filing administrative documents.• Developed & implemented a personalised database for project administration• All company workers can now write standardised time sheets whilst working on site. This ensured there are no gaps between work being completed and the ability to invoice, which improved the company’s cash flow (€3000/month).• Optimised workflow processes by introducing new technology which resulted in more flexibility and faster problem-solving even if two engineers work at different sites

Together with Innovative – Project – Consulting we are thinking about the "Future of Learning". This is a very innovative and promising field. In our opinion it will be one of the future markets. One of the main questions to us is how companies can benefit from it. At the moment nobody knows a certain direction and how it will be implemented into the market. We are trying to figure out standards and a success measure system to establish a high quality of the service. Our main responsibility in the project is the research of alternative ways and possibilities to implement them into current markets. To back up all the ideas of the Innovative – Project – Consulting team we did detailed researches on markets, projects or companies. We analyse market situations and support the team by further suggestions. Out of these results we develop an innovative idea / plan as well as an implementation strategy for their clients. Expedition goal: crossing of the North Atlantic from New York to Europe in a Reed Boat like in ancient times. Task: preparation of ABORA IV Expedition• Developed a time frame concept to show bottlenecks & risks of the project as well as providing alternative solutions• Developed a solution to ensure a constant media coverage prior to, during and after the project, which was vital to win sponsors and investors for the expedition• Developed a strategy to find project sponsorship, presented plans & ideas to possible investors, negotiated sponsorship terms and ensured all involved benefitted from the deals to a maximum – e.g. maximum media coverage, unique solutions for customer relations, sufficient financial support for the expedition• Prepared and organised the premiere of the ABORA III Expedition movie in a cinema with about 500 invited sponsors, project partners and other guests

I took care of logistics in the beginning and was soon responsible for finances, public relations, HR, presentations, and organisation • Handled all project logistics from Europe, South America and within the US• Processed project budget and found ad hoc new sponsorship money ($150,000) to secure expedition start and project realisation • Organised media coverage and scheduled all interview requests from the media before the start of the expedition. The actual start of the expedition was covered by more than 35 TV stations and well over 100 journalists around the world• Managed project finances, authorised to sign, managed up to 50 members of staff to secure project start on time and success of accompanying exhibition• Successfully handled a negative media campaign in Germany, which put the project at risk, by releasing effective counter statements and progress reports to a variety of newspapers and media• Established a new base on Azores, Portugal• Organised a ship to evacuate crew from partially damaged ABORA III and planned strategy to deliver story to the media without damaging future projects• Negotiated with media companies about broadcasting the story on different TV stations and radio channels in Europe

Solar World - Europe’s biggest Solar Panel Manufacturer – annual turnover €700m, 2000 employees• Designed more efficient factory floor layout including positions of machines, buffer zones and storage space, optimisation of short transit and emergency cases resulting in 20% more products produced per hour• Developed an entire supply chain concept for all assemblies used and finished products, which reduced the need for warehousing, enabled just-in-time delivery and the direct delivery of finished products to customers. This in turn improved cash flow and reduced operating costs thereby increasing profits

As speed limits went metric, the company won a contract to change 55% of Ireland’s speed limit signs• Project-managed exchange of 32,000 speed limit signs all over Ireland• Ahead-of-time and under-budget delivery of very complex logistical operation with dozens of different products and delivery destinations

I completed a dual training apprenticeship, which included the special option of achieving "Abitur" (German A-levels) as well as the vocational craftsman qualification. On completion, I was a fully trained carpenter and also had the option to go straight to University. This special combination programme is unique in Germany, takes 3 (instead of 4) years, and there are only 20 places available per year in entire Germany. Entry was based on selection tests, qualifications and recommendations.
