(Ontario) since 1982.-35 consecutive years of Canadian marine experience (from 1984).-Additionally, have completed a 4 year naval dockyard apprenticeship & 4 years in manufacturing.-Currently with BMT Canada Ltd. Previously with Alion Canada (now Serco Canada Marine) as Lead Engineer, primarily on the Joint Support Ship (JSS) project. - Previously in a principal engineering position with BMT Fleet Technology, working on Canadian Surface Combatant, including as a technical lead. Also worked on design plans & engineering changes for naval minor warships & auxiliaries. Providing mentorship to younger and not-so-young colleagues.-While with DND was a key member of the JSS project team for more than 10 years, as Marine Systems Manager, Sr Engineer & then as JSS/Shipyard Technical Liaison. Responsibilities: development of requirements, SOWs & DIDs related to propulsion and, auxiliary, pollution abatement & electrical systems, for both iterations of the JSS design. Subsequently on-site technical lead at TKMS, Hamburg, for 1 year (2012-13) applying JSS requirements to a German design which subsequently was chosen as the parent design for JSS. Upon return to Canada became shipyard technical liaison responsible for: transfer of design documentation, technology transfer from TKMS to Seaspan & production engineering.-Other naval experience includes: 4+ years as Sr Engineer on CPF program, 2 years on TRUMP (Design Manager) including 6 months at Davie Shipyard. -Commercial marine experience includes Sr Engineer, Manager &/or PM for many commercial vessel designs (from concept to 3D product model) as well as conducting numerous ship surveys & as ship construction supervisor (owner's rep). -Non-marine experience includes 2 years as manufacturing engineer with Westinghouse Canada (steam/gas turbines) & 2 years as production engineer then quality engineer with Seadart missile guidance program, Sperry Gyroscope, UK.
