At Golden Corral I oversaw and lead a 3 man IT sub-team for Digital Data Operations at Golden Corral pertaining to emerging technologies, design of cloud based and network based software for the company intranet, design and maintain company intranet, review, recommend, implement, train software solutions for all departments, Design, Implement and Train on in house developed software and purchased software, Recommend, Implement, Manage, Design and Maintain the Business Intelligence interface, databases and BI Dashboards using Enterprise Guide and Visual Analytics Software and LASR Data Warehouse from SAS. Design and Maintain software systems using SQL, WinAutomation scripts and ETL tools that automate data flow to and from Golden Corral, Vendors, Restaurants requiring on demand information from company databases. In my role, I coordinated projects for action items that crossed over between each sub department in IT pertaining to mainframe operations, POS, Networking, Technology and Web Development group, all areas of corporate and operation centers, Vendors and Franchisees.My role allowed me to be hands on in all areas of IT from data delivery from our restaurants to network to iSeries to managing Microsoft SQL Databases and oversee data delivery in forms of ETL, reports, FTP transfers and Business Intelligence.​

After 2 years as the sole designer of web applications for Golden Corral, the position was enhanced to become the Manager of Technology and Web Development. The new TWD role included overseeing Restaurant Backoffice PC Software maintenance and development. Also 2 additional Programmer/Analysts had to brought on board. TWD focused on web application development, database operations utilizing Microsoft SQL Server, designing data transfers systems between, corporate, restaurants, franchisees and vendors, recommending software based solutions for issues and opportunities facing the company, discuss future company needs to solve problems that have not yet occurred. Research emerging technologies and recommending how their role in Golden Corral culture and operations would or would not be beneficial. A pivotal point in this position was researching and recommending the use of Business Intelligence for GC Operations. TWD installed and developed BI data and reporting solutions for Golden Corral from the ground up.My role allowed me to be hands on in all areas of IT from data delivery from our restaurants to network to iSeries to managing Microsoft SQL Databases and oversee data delivery in forms of ETL, reports, FTP transfers and Business Intelligence.​

In this role I worked with the iSeries Team to build RPG based and Lansa Based software business solutions for Accounting, Payroll, Operational Offices and Leaders and Store Operations. My role was that of Project Leader and Technical Manager to design and implement software solutions utilizing my own RPG/Lansa coding and leading a team of RPG programmers. In the last 2 years of this role, I took Golden Corral from a basic static .com web presence to the role as the sole Web Application Designer and builder of web based solutions for our Operations, Marketing and Franchisees utilizing HTML/SQL Server/VB Scripting. In focusing on emerging technologies, I was instrumental in the recommendation, installation and training utilizing Showcase ( a product from Help Systems to download data from the iSeries into Excel and other data formats)

Work began as a junior RPG programmer on the System 3 Model 15D in batch based operations. I ended my career there as a Systems Analyst on the IBM System 38 designing and programming interactive based applications. My roles focused on software maintenance and development, traveling for onsite training of custom software solutions, traveling to install IT Equipment at remote offices, help to implement remote communications between the corporate office and a dozen remote operations areas, in house training and support. A pivotal responsibility change occurred when i was given the first IBM PC. In addition to my duties as software designer and programmer, I was ask to determine the new IBM PC could help the company. From there, an essential part of my function was the setup and training of IBM PCs for key office personnel, training employees in their use, installing and training office personnel in purchased PC software used for word processing and spreadsheets as well as other purchased software.
