Senior lead and manager of Citi’s Global Visa Business Unit, which included ongoing oversight of all critical Citi Visa network related activities. Responsibilities included all contract negotiations, marketing initiatives (acquisitions/ECM), pricing, operations, new product development, emerging payments, sponsorship activities (Olympics, NFL, etc.), legislation, etc., across Citi’s Consumer Credit, Debit, ATM, and Small Business, etc., units.

Managed Citi’s American Express and Smith Barney Business Unit within Citi Brands Cards, which included responsibility for all aspects of newly established network business with Amex/Global Network Services (GNS). Managed initial team of 12 Citi Marketing professionals accountable for all aspects of newly developed Citi Amex GNS network, including Card Issuing Agreement. Role required complete oversight of all relationship management initiatives with Amex and Smith Barney, ongoing negotiations relative to marketing campaigns, new product development, activation, technology and operations, etc. Managed all Amex product integration requirements and product development efforts of six new Citi Amex products, including AAdvantage, Premier Pass, Diamond Preferred, Dividend, Platinum, and Chairman (for Citi’s high-net-worth clients).

Managed Partnership Development Business unit of six professionals, responsible for securing all initial merchant partnership relationships in support of Citi’s “Thank You” rewards currency network launch. Additionally developed and managed centralized partnership marketing pipeline process for all Citi Card’s merchant marketing offers (co-brands, alliances, etc.) across all Citi Card products. Lead business development efforts for Citi’s Private Label business.

Managed the MasterCard (MC) Citi Global payments business across 100+ countries for all Citi MC Payments products including Consumer Credit, Debit, ATM, Commercial, and Acquiring. Developed and managed MC’s first Global Member Relations Account Team, consisting of 30+ exclusive relationship managers across all four regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, AP) specializing in all aspects of the payments industry required to support Citi’s Global Payments profitability and expansion. More than tripled Citi’s MC share of sales volume over a five year period.

Managed Chase’s U.S. business relationship with MasterCard through largest retail bank merger with Chemical Bank. Key accomplishments included signing of largest U.S. Retail Co-Brand win with Wal-Mart, industry’s largest retailer. Grew MasterCard’s share of new business within Chase from 0% to 95%, through integrated planning, dedicated account management, and development of customized business/marketing solutions. Accomplishment eventually resulted in Chase’s board shift from Visa to MasterCard, significant share gains, MBA signing, etc., with former Visa loyal member.

Managed business performance and key payments relationships for strategic account group made up of large northeast money center banks including, Key Bank, Corestates, PNC, First Fidelity, EAB, NatWest, Chevy Chase, Wilmington Trust, etc. Grew share of MasterCard business within all institutions in 18 month period via CRM sales efforts relative to Consulting, Marketing, Promotions, Sponsorships, Technology, Processing, etc., during time period when large national players had aligned with Visa.

Managed database marketing efforts and integration of all financial reported statistics for over 29,000 global member banks across issuing, acquiring, processing, etc., channels. Developed customized management reports, member reports, and analyses, which enabled appropriate MC executives and client members to make turnkey business decisions.
