About Michael Hard

After 30+ years in software, I now spend most of my time helping refugees and asylum seekers in the Americas. I've worked with refugees in many countries, and in many stages of the journey. My goal, in particular, is helping Spanish speaking people seeking safety for themselves and their families. During 17 years at Microsoft, I was given the Builders Award by Bill Gates, founded Microsoft Philippines, ran Emerging Markets in Latin America, created Microsoft Financial Services, and led US Digital Advertising Sales. After leaving Microsoft, I spent 15 years in start-ups, first as CEO of a Greylock portfolio startup, then as CRO (either full or part time) for many others. Before joining Microsoft, I rowed for the United States at the World Championships in Italy and Yugoslavia. I'm a crazy hiker (ask me).In 2020, I helped co-found Crew Haven, to provide access to rowing and academics for kids in inner city New Haven. In 2021, I helped create the Friends of Saric, helping rural communities in Sonora, Mexico. I volunteer my time to help asylum seekers in NYC, and to help rebuild communities in Mexico.
