Current• Compassionate Support: Providing compassionate support to migrant workers facing challenging situations in BC Canada, with a focus on those who have experienced abuse or exploitation. • Navigating Bureaucracy: Assisting workers in navigating the Canadian bureaucracy by filing complaints to agencies like Service Canada, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada), and the Employment Standards branch, ensuring their rights are protected.• Empowering Vulnerable Workers: Advocating for vulnerable workers by filing Open Work Permits for Vulnerable Workers with IRCC, enabling them to maintain legal status and work in Canada while addressing their unique circumstances.• Safeguarding Employment: Supporting workers in extending their work permits, applying for Employment Insurance, and addressing employment-related challenges, enhancing their job security and livelihood.• Personalized Assistance: Providing personalized 1-on-1 case management for clients, addressing a wide range of issues, from employer abuse to general settlement services, ensuring their individual needs are met.• Collaborative Efforts: Collaborating closely with the Philippine Consulate Migrant Workers Office Vancouver and other NGOs to strengthen the network of support for migrant workers, enhancing their access to services and resources.• Empathy, Cultural Sensitivity, and Events: Demonstrating empathy and cultural sensitivity in all interactions with clients, recognizing the unique challenges faced by migrant workers.• Emergency Assistance: Providing vital emergency assistance to migrant workers and their families during times of crisis, including rental and housing support as well as essential grocery assistance.
