I am the the founder of Michael Henze Consulting GmbH and the predecessor Michael Henze + Partner, a Munich based Management Consulting Boutique with a focus on (Agile) Program & Transformation Management in IT, Telco and Media industries. In these segments, Michael Henze Consulting GmbH is serving leading mid- and large sized companies (up to 150.000 employees) and driving the implementation of strategic change.As an agile transformation coach, instructor and mentor, I ensure clear and successful planning, implementation and if necessary recovery of change projects for companies, CXOs and executives. So far I have advised companies like Telekom, Contitrade, Microsoft but also Jio and TechMahindra.How I do it: With my experience from multiple top management positions and as an external consultant, I have led numerous transformation and change projects and developed the "Transformation Board Method" together with colleagues.This method enables a holistic view of the transformation project (whether agile, digital, analog or any combination) and forms the basis for a clear transformation roadmap, planning, implementation or recovery. This saves time and costs; and can be clearly communicated.

I supported the TechMahindra Program Leadership team in the tendering and contracting phase for a digital and agile transformation at Telefonica Germany, worked on the program preparation and ramp up, later setting up and taking over the leadership of the "agile center of excellence" to implement the agile transformation roadmap.

I gave guidance developing the transformation design for the eDrive 365 program with the main objectives of increasing profits while reducing costs based on a new ERP system. I coached the program management team in gaining an agile mindset and apply change management based on the Prosci ADKAR methodology. In order to implement the new ERP system he supported the design of an agile fixed price strategy, supported contract negotiations, risk mitigation and definition of quality improvements.

I acted as the external program manager for the Volkswagen AG group-wide agile implementation of Office 365 ensuring an effective and efficient delivery. The agile way of working was based on the SAFe framework and adoption & change activities followed the Prosci ADKAR approach.

I supported the CIO and his team in various leadership and coaching roles. The main focus being structuring the software release management, implementing lean and agile methodologies, offering best practices for IT operations and developing a disaster recovery strategy.

I led the company from ideation of an emotion based social network and its launch and stabilization phase to its shut down two years later. As an agile coach I guided the teams in designing and developing mobile applications and cloud based backend systems. Furthermore I focused on the negotiation and relationship management with investors.

I started as Interim-COO of Telefónica’s spin off O2 Service GmbH to develop the new O2 MVNE business, being hired as CTO and Managing Director after the first successful product launch. I built up a company with one core business: mobile communications services using well-known brand names (“branded sales partnerships”).In my role as a CTO I developed and implemented a highly effective strategy to launch new partners, develop and introduce products in shortest time period (industry leader in “time-to-market” process). Customers included Tchibo mobile, AOL mobile, Alice and FONIC.

I developed and implemented a company-wide IT strategy to focus on core competence and to position the IT as profit center while leading and controlling the international change management team. I Introduced SAP Enterprise 4.7 as the new corporate ERP system and consolidation platform for long-term resources reduction of 30% and overall cost reduction of 25%.In order to achieve those goals, I restructured and renegotiated all outsourcing and service contracts, with substantial cost savings while keeping the same quality level. In parallel I Initiated and executed a company-wide “KPI transparency” program to increase quality and customer satisfaction and completed the first-ever implementation of a company-wide ITIL process model.

I developed and implemented a group-wide IT operations strategy for complexity reduction, consolidation, standardization, harmonization while reducing costs substantially. I also implemented and project managed various consolidation and standardization programs, identified and made use of synergy potential.Another important activity was the planning and development of an international IT operations organization with more customer orientation and focus on service. Hence I established a group wide contract and partner management, standardized the structures in domestic firms and set up international service centers for IT architecture, IT security and IT network.Through this International change management I provided the motor for the innovation process for “best of breed solutions” for the T-Mobile business (“Get more from IT”).

My main focus was the organisational change management to establish a service provider management, decrease opex by 25% and migrate the email infrastructure to Microsoft exchange. I ensured the smoothly running operations and sustained optimization for the technical IT infrastructure operated by IT service providers.Besides the overall responsibility for defining and implementing service level agreements required for the business I took on designing and implementing processes and procedures to ensure operations, took over the accountability to establish a new quality management process and organisation.

After starting my career in the telecommunications devision of debis Systemhaus and taking accountability for the bid management for multimillion € projects, I was appointed to set up a new market segment to service "Travel & Transport" customers. I was accountable for P&L, Business Development, Sales, Sales Consulting and Projects and Services throughout Germany and generated a multimillion turnover already in the first year with customers like Ocean24, Lufhansa eCommerce etc..Based on my entrepreneurial skills I initiated and acquired for debis Systemhaus the DER Data GmbH from Lufthansa to expand the "ticketing" knowledge and customer base for the industry line. Another opportunity to grow was taking the lead on designing the it-operations architecture for the Toll-Collect solution and heading the bid management.

I co-founded the first German start-up to launch an "online lawyer" service. I designed and developed several different legal online services like online debt collection (Miss Money Penny), legal revision courses for students (in cooperation with Alpmann-Schmidt) and an up to date German federal courts verdict collection. These services were initially accessible via CompuServe only and were later on made available to a larger audience via the World Wide Web.

I started my military career in the engineers corps and after being trained as an army officer moved on to the Navy to become an aviator. I was trained in Germany, the USA and the United Kingdom to fly Tornado jets as member of the Naval Air Wing I based in Schleswig/Germany. In my role of a staff member I was accountable for organization and public relations.
