    In March of 2014 I relocated to London and moved to URS, joining their services team at London Victoria. My position was similar to my previous post at Ramboll, working at both concept and detailed design stage to progress schemes through to completion. My first project was Vauxhall Skygardens, a 35 storey mixed use development comprising Retail, commercial and high end residential spaces, and also incorporating affordable housing. This role gave me a good knowledge of the high end residential market.

I often met with clients, architects and contractors to progress engineering designs and develop solutions to problems which have occurred onsite, and was responsible for witnessing and approving installed systems. I also took an interest in the development of Revit within the office and used Revit MEP to draw the routes of my systems for co-ordination workshops, and produced reports on clashes found within the models .

    At the start of 2013 I carried out a secondment at the new mary rose museum in Portsmouth. My role here was to plan out an annual maintainance regime on the mechanical equiptment installed within the building. This involved liasing with the maintainers, and creating a resource loaded matrices to ensure that all their was enough manpower available to provide all pieces of equiptment with the maintainance they required. As a result of this resource planning it became clear that additional maintatiners were required and these were subsequently recruited.In addition to this role, another of my tasks was to identify pieces of kit which were either critical, or required expertise which the trust did not have, and negotiating maintainance contracts with external providers. By the end of my secondment contracts had been set up on all of the equiptment which had been identified as needing it.
