My practice focuses on complex arbitration and litigation matters. I have represented clients in both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations under a wide variety of arbitral rules, including LCIA, ICC, ICDR, UNCITRAL and ICSID. I have a particular focus on international commercial arbitration, having advised clients from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa in disputes relating to energy and natural resources, manufacturing, financial services and telecommunications.I also have significant court experience. I am a qualified solicitor-advocate, and have represented a broad range of clients in commercial disputes before the English courts and in court proceedings relating to arbitration. I also have substantial experience of multi-jurisdictional disputes.I believe passionately that lawyers should contribute to the broader community by carrying out pro bono work. I regularly represent destitute asylum seekers in tribunal hearings in connection with the Asylum Support Appeals Project.I studied for my undergraduate degree at St. Catherine's College, Oxford, during the course of which I spent a year studying German law at the University of Regensburg in Germany. I obtained B.A. in Law with Law Studies in Europe (German Law), and graduated with First Class Honours. I studied for my graduate degree at New York University, graduating with an LL.M. in International Legal Studies in May 2007. I am admitted to practise in both England and Wales and New York. I have been granted Higher Rights of Audience in civil proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. I speak German fluently.
