Chief Operations Officer
The position was originally intended to be short-term (6 months) to assist in the Operations side of the clinic, but it has extended out until 12/31/2024. We currently see patients one day a week in our Grass Valley location, and will be expanding to offer one day a week to our Penn Valley site.• Partnered with Integrated Telehealth Partners to establish Behavioral Telehealth to our group. We have one Psych Nurse Practitioner and one Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with plans to bring on another LCSW. Behavioral Health has a backlog of patients that need to be seen, and telehealth helps in reducing that backlog.• Collaborated with Nevada County Public Health to install a Health Access Vending Machine (HAVEN) at our Penn Valley site. The products in the machine are free and available to those who register for a pin number. The machine provides convenient access to items such as Naloxone (Narcan) and fentanyl test strips, Medication and sharps disposal kits, Adult and children’s oral health kits, First aid, hygiene and grooming kits, and more.• Streamlined processes such as creating Provider On-Call lists, creating and modifying scheduling templates, and receiving Peer Review evaluations. • Created a Master Training List for all departments to ensure that all legal and necessary training requirements were met.• Realigned some of the previous work processes and assigned them to the proper work positions.

The clinic had two years without this statement, and a clean audit for FY 2021-2022.• Reduced the clinic’s Accounts Payable from $500,000 in excess of 180+ days due to no more than $50,000 over 30 days due.• Improved our billing process by outsourcing to a billing company, hiring a revenue cycle manager, and restructuring our billing flow to improve timely payments. • Adopted a new Electronic Health Record and transitioned the clinic from Athena to eClinicalWorks.• Eliminated outstanding locum debt and decreased locum provider coverage to scheduled vacations and occasional coverage due to employee change.• Reorganized internal staffing structure for better responsibility flow and promoted qualified internal employees to staff those positions. • Established strong communication between Northeastern and Banner Lassen Medical Center as well as our Tri-County Public Health Coalition. • Developed a robust emergency preparedness response system in conjunction with the Public Health Coalition and CalOES. The clinic has a dedicated radio room and three FCC licensed operators.• Served on the Board of Directors of the Health Alliance of Northern California - a network of community clinics and health centers working to promote the health and well-being of our communities in rural, Northern California.• Served as Co-Chair of the Lassen Healthcare Collaborative, which coordinates area efforts between the clinic, hospital, and all public service agencies in the area.• Was a member of various committees with the California Primary Care Association.• Coordinated a multi-million-dollar update and remodel of the clinic facilities.
