Words have been my calling since I started my career as a sports writer at The Washington Post and went on to tell stories as a journalist – ranging from the unsung foreman of the Washington, D.C., Bureau of Sewer Services who sifted through sludge underneath the city streets to find false teeth, lost keys and a diamond ring, to the relentless rebounding of pro basketball legend Moses Malone.This storytelling ability fueled a corporate communications career that saw me help drive industry-focused public relations for the world’s largest business software company – Oracle – and play a pivotal role in corporate media relations for one of the world’s commercial aviation leaders – American Airlines.
