Network Distribution was then an $8 billion distribution cooperative serving customers across North America and Europe. I drove implementation of business strategy by agile use of information technology and software development. Designed, built and and rolled out suite of supply chain and business analytics applications transforming company's operations and revenue model from old line distributor to value added provider of products, information and supply chain services. For this work I received the CIO 100 Award, InformationWeek 500 Award, and Premier 100 Award.

Covansys was an international consulting and IT services firm with 4,200 professionals in North America, Europe and India (acquired by CSC in 2007). I reported to vice president in charge of the 300+ person Chicago office, and was responsible for multi-million dollar annual sales goals. Concentration was in supply chain and e-commerce; used company's onsite, offsite, offshore project delivery model. Large projects included programming teams at the company's offshore development center in India.

Over 18-month period, took on short-term assignments with three firms:* Bricker & Associates, Chicago, IL. - Managed design and development of executive information system; brought in new client and project with budget in mid-six figures.* HTG Systems, Fort Worth, TX - Established Chicago office, developed marketing and sales plan for ERP package aimed at midsize manufacturing and distribution companies, hired and trained salespeople to assist in selling package and consulting services.* Checkers Simon & Rosner LLP, Chicago, IL - Assisted CPA firm to grow systems consulting practice and hire and train personnel needed to support growth. Identified target market segments, defined product and service offerings for segments and closed in excess of half million dollars in new business.

Worked with senior management of this then $3-billion international distributor of wiring systems and components for data, voice and video networks to formulate technology plans to support their major business initiatives. Created high level conceptual system designs and budgets for presentation to Corporate Steering Committee that set development priorities.

Hired by Anixter VP of Worldwide Operations to start up, train and manage a group of business analysts and system designers within existing 100-person information services department. Led project team of business and technical people that successfully designed, built and rolled out multimillion-dollar sales support, order entry, and customer contact management system. System has since been updated with new graphic user interface and is still used by over 1,400 sales people in 130 offices in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
