I like challenges. I have always enjoyed solving puzzles and working with numbers, both at work and in my personal life, mainly because there's always a way to win. To get the answer faster. To get a better result. In 2011 I changed careers and moved into warehousing. After spending 8 months as a warehouse supervisor, I was promoted into a data reporting role. That year we were red on every Key Performance Indicator. Challenge accepted. As a firm believer in continuous process improvement, standardized processes and hiring talented, capable people who know more than than you do, I started looking at our current processes. In 2012, almost all reports were created by copying and pasting from our WMS to Excel, manipulating the data and then typing the result into a different Excel file. With the incredible support of my manager, I embarked on a quest for automation, accuracy and development. As our reporting was streamlined, I, and eventually my team, was free to pursue process improvement and data analysis projects. The site and I steadily progressed and advanced through 3 Site Leaders, 3 GM's and 6 Sr Operations Managers. Along the way I became the site owner for just about every new process or idea we tried.Today, I'm the Data and IT Manager at a Proctor & Gamble mixing center with three warehouses covering 3 million sq ft with a throughput of 600 trucks per day. Over 3/4 of our reports are 100% automated and require no manual intervention at all.I'm part of our senior leadership team, playing a key role in developing processes and SOP's in addition to overseeing many areas for site:- data analysis- warehouse zoning- inventory strategy- information systems - engineered labor standards- case and layer pick slotting- data reporting and development- warehouse management system- and IT supportMost importantly, since 2014 we have consistently hit all our KPI's.Challenge completed. If you have a challenge for me, let me know if I can help.
