Germanna Community College is a co-educational regional two-year college established in 1970. The College serves the residents of the city of Fredericksburg, and the counties of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford with quality, affordable education. I hold the post of Adjunct, and teach organic chemistry, general chemistry, and an integrated general, organic and biochemistry course. In the latter capacity, I additionally created a distance learning version of the integrated course for nursing students.

The USPTO advises the president of the United States, the secretary of commerce, and U.S. government agencies on intellectual property (IP) policy, protection, and enforcement.Dr. Hydorn was the United States Patent and Trademark Office - Patent and Trademark Resource Center Program’s former patent examiner in-residence. Dr. Hydorn's efforts at USPTO include development of enhanced delivery of Intellectual Property services and products centred on USPTO services and products that are then tailored to the needs of each PTRC. The PTRCs support the independent inventor community, attorneys, small businesses, entrepreneurs, as well as the intellectual property interests of colleges and universities. Additional efforts include developing new relationships in regional communities surrounding each PTRC to assist customers in getting their ideas to the marketplace. For over 10 years he led an interagency partnership team and was responsible for all aspects of the development, implementation, management and evaluation of the project. These partnerships provided the stepping ground to enhanced public search services, electronic patent and trademark products, and on-line services that now all 80+ PTRCs offer throughout the country. These partnerships also provided the proof-of-concept for the satellite offices that USPTO began under AIA.Dr. Hydorn joined the USPTO in 1991 as a chemical & biotech patent examiner working in Group 120 - Organic Chemistry. He primarily examined new heterocyclic medicinals and their related biotechnology. In late 1994 he served as the acting Office Automation Advisor. Dr. Hydorn has received numerous accolades in his tenure with USPTO including DOC Bronze Medal Award and Vice Presidential Reinvention Awards.
