My work at Western University is varied - from designing and building instrumentation for meteor physics and space surveillance to the construction of robotic observatories for rapid imaging of Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNOs). When I'm not out in the field at Elginfield Observatory, I'm often analyzing data from our many instruments or writing code in Python.

I'm currently working on a 2 month project to little used algorithm to search for asteroids in archived satellite data. The work that I'm doing relies heavily on Python and, so far, is yielding results beyond what even I had expected.

As one of my passions has always been astronomy (especially observational), I continue to consult (in my spare time) and help out where and when I can. Being one of the few people in the world who have worked with the refurbishment of Baker-Nunn cameras (see www.bakernunn.org), I occasionally get the chance to consult on the mechanics and optics of these wonderful tools. And I always look forward to the next chance...

Again, because of my astronomical interests, I like to chase fireballs and any meteorites (in my spare time) that may have made it to the ground. I like to involve myself in all aspects of the chase but especially enjoy reducing seismic and infrasound data to help understand not only where meteorites may be found on the ground, but also, where in our solar system they came from.
