By redesigning the hiring process into a unified process with a focus on culture and lean/agile DevOps approach, we have improved the new hire success rate to 99%. In keeping with a "work hard/play hard" philosophy, I turned a conference room into a game room & arcade for my team, where we hold tournaments to relieve stress.Another operational improvement I implemented in the IT support group was to establish an Employee Bar and walk-up hours resulting in 99% satisfaction and an estimated reduction in end-user compute downtime of 100 hours per week.Results include:✔ Saved $515 K and approximately 150 hours a week by automating the employee and contractor on-boarding processes. ✔ Created savings of $2 million dollars annually in infrastructure costs by introducing service-oriented infrastructure for computing and storage needs by utilizing Cisco UCS and Nimble SAN.
