I developed a love for instructional design as a certificate student at UVA in 2020. Since then, I've strived to learn as much as possible about developing active learning experiences for students while collaborating with educators and stakeholders.I have over 18 years of experience in educational leadership, program coordination, curricular design, teacher training, classroom instruction, and educational technology. Prior to my current role as Co-Principal, I was Assistant Principal, and before that, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Earlier in my career, I was selected to a highly competitive principal training program and have been AVID Coordinator. Additionally, I have served as an instructional coach and have a philosophy of continuous improvement.I am recognized by supervisors for accomplishments in staff development and program management and have provided standards-aligned instruction in accordance with both the State of Texas and the District of Columbia. Additionally, I am familiar with educational best practices and generally accepted pedagogical and andragogical principles in both K-12 and Adult Education. I have instructional expertise in areas such as English, Reading, ESL, and AVID. I am currently a student at the University of Virginia, pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in the area of Curriculum and Instruction with an Instructional Technology focus. I am always looking for ways to network and connect with other educators.
