As the Production Manager at Redline Detection, I oversee the daily floor operations of the best-selling diagnostic leak detection equipment in the automotive industry. Our equipment is mandated essential in 160 countries and we have placed products with the majority of the automakers worldwide. Additionally, we manufacture machines for big equipment operators.

As the Continuous Improvement Manager of this custom millworks business, I oversaw 90 operators across six departments for a private company with multimillion-dollar sales. I developed 185 YouTube videos to train operators, present customer projects, and show improvements on safety, quality, as well as assembly processes. The goal: develop a culture of respect for each by encouraging, coaching and sharing my passion for LEAN / Continuous Improvements. As the Plant Manager I had executive oversight of a 125-operator fireplace manufacturing plant producing one-third of corporate sales with a value of $30M. I continuously drove waste and safety standard adherence as well as improvements, including development of instructional videos to train operators to significantly reduce safety issues. I supported and advocated for the professional development of staff, developing 15 leads and supervisors to progress in their roles.Some highlights of this role include:• Successfully enabled best in industry lead time of five days, reduced from 12, through stocking A/B items with C items built to order.• Spearheaded labor efficiency improvement efforts, achieving 7% increase in performance and saving $175K through establishment of work standards as well as restructuring assembly lines.• Achieved savings of $240K over two year period with strategic make vs. buy decision resulting in value streaming concrete gas logs production to replace supplier costs.• Slashed WIP by 67% from three-day supply through introducing one-piece flow in high-end panel department.

During my tenure at FMI (Fireplace Manufacturers Inc), I consistently championed process improvement initiatives, including implementation of Kanban for 500 fabricated as well as purchased parts supply CA and AL plants. I facilitated Lean training, successfully acquiring a $30K State Funded Training Contract (ETP). I promoted the implementation and adoption of lean processes, receiving the Kaizen Award from executive committee for showing high level lean promise based on savings results. Some key achievements in this role include:• Production manger / scheduler for concrete gas log division. With 80 operators and over 100,000 log sets produced for the mass merchants (Home Depot, Lowes, Costco) as well as new construction. • Strategically spearheaded inventory reduction team to slash inventory by $1.1M across CA and AL plants.
