With today's diverse and vast IT environments, it is impossible to understand what constitutes all the hardware and software, for which a business depends on, in a manual fashion. Whether it be for simply understanding of what is in the environment for hardware and software inventory purposes; enablement of change impact analysis or tracking; migrations or upgrades of machines or workloads, an enterprise discovery solution is critical. The discovery of hardware devices and software, specifications and configuration thereof, as well as the relationships across these assets, is paramount to an enterprise IT environment for numerous initiatives and strategies. Whether it be Business Services Management, exploitation of Virtualization technologies, or Cloud enablement, discovery as a foundational activity is required. Because such strategies are always perpetual and in motion, this necessitates a scalable, high-performing discovery solution for continuous understanding and assessment. In my current role at IBM as the Chief Architect of Discovery Technologies, it is my responsibility to drive the IBM Tivoli portfolio product architecture and direction to provide our customers with discovery solutions that provide the foundation that enables them to execute on the initiatives described above. The IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) is a world-class, enterprise discovery solution.

Development of software solutions for the emerging space of Information Governance. Specifically, solutions that provide the monitoring of data quality as data progresses throughout the information supply chain, whereby the information supply chain is viewed as the aggregate of persistent stores, applications, mediations, and transformations (ETL) that are occurring to the data as it progress from all the initiating sources, until is lands in its final resting place such as a data warehouse.

IBM Software Group Chief Architect of Componentization. The responsibilities of this role required to define and drive a software componentization strategy and internal standards across all the IBM software brands: Information Management, Lotus, Rational, Tivoli, and WebSphere.

Senior Software Developer on the IBM Distributed Computing Environment Distributed File System (DCE/DFS) for zOS.

Senior Software Developer on the IBM Local Area Network File Services for Multimedia (LFS for Multimedia). This project streamed digital data from zOS to cable television set-top boxes and provided cable users a Video On-Demand environment.

Software developer on IBM Virtual Machine Conversational Monitor System (VM/CMS) Shared File System (SFS). Designed and developed the client technology for CMS/SFS being the first to leverage the CMS Multi-Threaded support.
