Project ManagerMcmaster Rocketry Team Sep 2017 - Jul 2018Hamilton, Ontario, CaThe McMaster Rocketry Team is competing in the 2018 Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC), hosted by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA) at the Spaceport America Cup in Southern New Mexico. As project manager, Michael performs integration management to provide comprehensive project delivery solutions, including detailed Gantt charts and technical refinements, to facilitate a consistent and productive relationship between the team's partners and the design and construction teams. Michael has also improved the team's organizational structure by implementing an efficient project and task management software to ensure key milestones are achieved on time. Since the start of the year, he has been able to minimize production costs by 50%, accelerate the Controls Division through the use of the Marsa Systems Flight Computer, and develop financial projections for the 2017-2018 year. Michael had the opportunity to co-develop the team's official sponsorship package and present the project in trade shows and other engineering events.He is also a board member for the Canadian Rocketry Consortium (CRC), where he represents McMaster in bi-weekly conference meetings with all of the top rocketry teams throughout Canada (Waterloo, UFT, McGill, UBC, Queen's, etc). With a repertoire of over 100 songs, Michael played a wide variety of musical compositions, ranging between jazz, pop, classical, and salsa. Not only did he bring a sense of warmth and magic to the atmosphere, but he developed meaningful relationships with new customers each week. He often took song requests and was the main reason customers returned each weekend. In addition to bringing people back, Michael had over 200 friends and family visit Edens Cafe throughout his time playing as a pianist.
