CurrentNorthwest Hospital & Medical Center is a 281-bed, full-service, non-profit community hospital offering comprehensive medical, surgical and therapeutic services. • Provide outstanding, patient-centered care to medical and telemetry patients.• Demonstrate excellent critical thinking and keen prioritization skills combined with clinical proficiency, compassion and professionalism.• Implement total patient care through collaboration with healthcare team members; routinely carry a patient load of 5-7 medical/telemetry patients presenting diverse medical conditions, including cerebrovascular disorders; cardiac, renal, and hepatic disease/failure; pneumonia and respiratory failure; and schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychological disorders. • Assist with or implement emergency measures for adverse developments in patient condition.• Act as patient advocate; assess patient status and notify physician of changes in clinical condition.• Serve as charge nurse, supervising up to seven RN’s and five CNA’s; evaluate staffing requirements; make patient assignments; organize unit activities on a 36-bed medical/telemetry unit.• Demonstrate commitment to furthering nursing knowledge by attending multiple continuing education classes, including: Basic EKG, Wound/Skin Care, Orthopedics, Patient Crisis, Charge Nurse, AIDS/HIV, FEMA Incident Management/Command Systems, and Geriatrics.
