Infrastructure Engineer - Enterprise (Architecture Design)
CurrentPartner with directors, application developers, technicians and other engineers from IT areas to design components and makes recommendations for architecture improvement.Lead extensive collaboration between engineering peers to ensure that architecture and solution designs are rationalized and integrated across IT functions and business units.Analyze financial services industry and technology trends to determine potential impacts to our business and proactively partner with application and infrastructure teams to create road maps which consider near term and long-term health of systems, and technical currency. Recommend technology direction and/or adjustments to incorporate in the business plansResponsible for ongoing mentoring, training, and education of technical staff within their domain, to ensure skillsets are appropriate for current and future technologies. Research, design and implement new initiatives to improve implementation, administration and maintenance of infrastructuresystems and tools with opportunities for efficiency and automation in mind and provide recommendations for adoption/rejection.Develop System and Design Documentation describing the system requirements, operating environment, system and subsystem architecture, files and database design, input output layouts, machine interfaces, processing logic, and external interfaces among others.Accountable for assigned infrastructure systems and troubleshoot complex problems to ensure timely resolution. Analyze existing procedures and consider alternatives to complex technical configurations.Work with external vendors molding strategic direction of vendor systems to support the strategic direction of Farm Bureau.Assist IT management with resource management issues including resource allocation, training goals and mentoring.Sponsor, manage and/or participate in special projects as requested.
