As the Director, Client Value Attorney - Debt Finance, I’m responsible for knowledge management and practice operations, a member of the firm’s client value leadership team and KMA/PSL networks. Prior to joining A&O Shearman, I practiced law at Davis Polk for six years, advising primarily on leveraged finance transactions. A dual qualified finance attorney, I'm admitted in New York, England & Wales and Ireland. I'm Co-Chair of the NYC Knowledge Management & Innovation Attorney Network and, from 2019 to 2024, served as President of the Irish American Bar Association of New York (IABANY). In 2023, I was named to the Irish Legal 100 List which recognizes accomplished Irish & Irish-American attorneys in the American legal profession. I hold law degrees from New York University and Trinity College Dublin. In my role at A&O Shearman, I focus on knowledge strategy and practice management, working as a consultant to attorney deal teams who frequently call upon me to provide legal guidance, market terms, forms, precedents, sample language and industry statistics, local counsel referrals, legal tech solutions etc. I manage attorney training and development, onboarding of new hires, develop KM processes and procedures, curate knowledge, draft legal updates & alerts, promote best practices and consistent standards, build intranet resources & precedent databases, oversee deal tracking and league table submissions, evaluate subscriptions & LegalTech platforms and engage in business planning etc.At Davis Polk, my practice crossed several fields, including leveraged & investment-grade finance, capital markets and general corporate. I counselled pro bono clients on elder law and asylum matters and instructed law students at Columbia Law School's asylum clinic. I also acted as the Interim Head of Practice Resources for the Finance Group.In 2019, I was a recipient of the ILTA (International Legal Technology Association) Distinguished Peer Award for "Young Professionals to Watch". I have volunteered on ILTA’s Awards Committee for a number of years.
