I was a TA for CS61B: Data Structures and Advanced Programming in Spring 2017, an undergraduate course with more than 1300 students. I helped teach Java, OOP, fundamental data structures, and important sorting and elementary graph theory algorithms. I held weekly office hours and labs to help students on homeworks and large-scale projects, and I taught a weekly discussion section in a classroom setting to help students reinforce their understanding of concepts.

I used React.js to refactor some of the Glassdoor website's major UI features into modular and reusable React components; these included the site's dropdown menus and employer photo slideshows. I also implemented an infrastructural change to the codebase, using Java and Gulp to move static files out of the website's normal build and into a remote Amazon S3 bucket. This change creates the possibility of patching static files without triggering an entire build and developing on the back end without having to worry about an unstable front end, thus considerably improving engineering productivity.

I worked as an intern for the dev team of Coverity's Test Advisor product, which analyzes how effectively a code project's source code is covered by its tests. My main task was to revamp the Business Modeler, a web application component that allows users to model a code project by mapping classes to representative visual containers and view test coverage metrics for each container.I rewrote the previous Flex front-end with JavaScript and jQuery, where the main challenge involved designing algorithms for the geometric restructuring of container divs during a user's drag-and-drop action. I also used Dropwizard to write back-end API services for loading and saving a model and retrieving metrics data from the server.
