I provide designers and builders with solutions to help protect and maintain their facilities. From design to construction, I look for ways to help clients prevent corrosion, chemical attack, thermal bridging, and condensation in a vast array of environments. I started in the industry 20 years ago with Tnemec Company and received extensive technical training in Tnemec’s latest coatings technologies, coordinated testing for their technologies, and lead sustainability initiatives using these technologies. In 2004, I relocated to the Northeast to work with Righter Group, Inc.; a coatings consulting firm-- where I began working with a team of highly skilled engineers, contractors and consultants who further helped develop my technical background. Since then, I’ve developed many relationships with architects, engineers and contractors and have helped consult on projects all across the Northeast. I have a Construction Documents Technology certification from Construction Specifications Institute; I help Architects and Engineers specify the best types of coatings for their projects, keeping in mind their client’s goals and budgets. I’m a NACE Level 3 coatings-inspector; I help contractors and subcontractors in the application of these coatings. I have a specialty in Low VOC Coatings and LEED projects; I work with high quality, sustainable materials. From its inception in an office to its erection in the real world, I help my clients design and construct buildings that are environmentally friendly and built to last. From water tanks and treatment, to manufacturing plants, medical centers, industrial facilities and specialty architectural buildings, I’ve helped protect a wide variety of structures in a multitude of environments. Here are a few:-Dana Farber Cancer Institute-- Boston, MA. This medical research facility required specialized coatings for their walls and floors that could meet a variety of regulations, from cleaning to impact, to steralization, to wash-downs. We helped the architect craft a coating system that not only met these regulations but was also low-odor and LEED compliant. Then, we spent three months with the installer and applicator to ensure that the facilty’s 25,000 square feet of corridors, laboratories and vivariums were coated correctly. -Grossman Hall, Colby College-- Waterville, ME. In 2016, Colby College transformed this residence hall into administrative space, adding a transparent, two-story structure to the existing brick building. Meant to be a testament to sustainability, it boasted a variety of environmentally-friendly features, including energy-efficient heating and ventilation, fixtures that reduce water consumption, even locally-sourced or recycled materials. We helped the architects select LEED-compliant, low-VOC coatings that would work with these unique materials-- providing thermal breaks across all the steel penetrations, bolstering the building’s sustainable and energy-efficient practices, even preserving its color and gloss for years to come.
