CIMIT's objective is to find, fund and facilitate medical innovations that impact patient care. Over CIMIT's 15-year history, we have invested in over 800 early-stage projects; over 30% of these have led to a commercial solution. My role as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Director of the Accelerator Team is to help selected projects get to the market, and hence to patients, as quickly as possible.

I am member of the Faculty that teaches a joint MIT/Sloan School class titled "Healthcare Ventures" (HST978) that helps students who seek careers in the domains of business, engineering, technology, science, policy, and/or medicine to make their mark on the life sciences sector by starting a new venture. I am also on the leadership team of the MIT/M+Vision program, a post-graduate fellowship program with similar objectives.

Caduceus Wireless is an my independent consulting practice that is focused on solving practical medical problems. It is through Caduceus that I provide strategic consulting, expert testimony, and IP generation for medical device companies.

Clyde & Rose is a nonprofit I co-founded providing free- and low-cost home maintenance to people of limited physical and/or financial means. The vision of Clyde & Rose is to do to home maintenance what Habitat for Humanity did for home building.

Cbit

The Yale University Center for Biomedical and Interventional Technology (CBIT) is an interdisciplinary initiative to foster greater innovation in medical technology. It is a consortium of engineers, clinicians, scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs to help incubate, support, implement, and potentially bring to market novel technical approaches to address under-met clinical needs. My role at CBIT is similar to what I do at CIMIT - helping clinical innovators to bring important medical devices to the market.

Secora invented and sold a system to help keep people living in their homes as independently and long as possible. The system listened for "sounds of daily living" such as the shower running, cooking noises, toilets flushing, sounds from television, etc. It then used these sounds to determine the well being of someone living alone. Are they eating? Are they active in the house? Have they had guests, etc.

Radianse is one of the leading solution providers of Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) to hospitals. These systems allow equipment, staff and patients to be quickly located enabling safer and more cost effective care. As a Founder and CEO of the company, I am proud of the work that the great team at Radianse continues to do to innovate and set the standard for RTLS.

At HP (Philips) I worked on wireless and business strategy for the medical telemetry business.
