Michael Keepe currently lives in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area working as an educator, freelance musician, and music publisher.A deeply committed music educator, Mike enjoys making music accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds maintaining an active private studio. Dr. Keepe has served on the faculty’s of The Fred Fox School of Music (Saxophone), and The McGuire Center of Entrepreneurship (Lecturer), at the University of Arizona; Pima Community College (Saxophone, Music Industry); Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp (Saxophone, Conducting); and as Band Director for the Tucson Unified School District. As a performer, Mike’s goal is to promote and perpetuate the rich and diverse heritage of concert saxophone repertoire. As a soloist, and member/manager of The Rodriguez & Keepe Duo and the Presidio Saxophone Quartet, he has performed in Canada, Mexico, Australia and throughout the United States, premiering dozens of works by composers from across the globe. In the commercial and jazz genres he has worked as a studio sideman and has performed with Michael Feinstein, Bernadette Peters, the Cab Calloway Orchestra, and the Temptations among others. Mike commissions and performs new works for saxophone from composers accross the globe. In this spirit he created Keepe Publishing House, a music publishing company dedicated to the creation, preservation and promotion of the finest saxophone repertoire. The company now represents Pulitzer Prize and Emmy Award winning composers, as well as some of today's newest rising talents.Dr. Keepe received multiple degrees at the University of Arizona including a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance with a Minor in Music Business.
