Passionate about bringing servant leadership to software development, I have worked in SMB organizations focusing on the Microsoft .Net stack. Everywhere I have gone, I have spent time to implement agile development methodologies that have significantly improved cross-functional communication and project execution. I am a big believer in Covey's 7 Habits framework and as a Christian believe that my employers and colleagues deserve both my best work product and my complete honesty at all times.I got the computer bug as a kid when my dad took me to work and the system programmer there let me type my name onto a punch card. Years later I started programming on a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I computer that I bought mail-order for $669 with my paper route money in 1980. I loved the challenge of automating things and seeing the results on the screen. I taught about using computers at my local library as a teen and helped out as an aide in the FORTRAN lab at college as a freshman. I earned a Bachelor's in Finance and went into Accounting in the Insurance industry and immediately started automating my team's monthly reconciliation tasks using dBase III+, parsing our commercial bank statements and comparing them to our mainframe extracts, saving hundreds of man-hours.After dabbling in sales for a few years I went back into Accounting and programming. After one particular layoff I took off a year and dedicated myself to learning C++, MFC, ATL and COM and getting an MCP certification to become a professional programmer. Less than a year into that Microsoft invented the .Net Framework, greatly simplifying all that material under a new brand. That was my introduction to the constant shifting-sands that is our industry.I've never looked back. I still love everything about programming computers. I did contracting for a number of years and so have proven I can work effectively in a lot of different kinds of environments, industries, and projects.I grew up in North Carolina and consider my roots to be as a southerner. But I have lived in Southern California for most of my adult life. I am active in my community and a leader at my church, have been happily married for 30 years and have two daughters graduated from UCLA and UCSB, both of whom are excelling in two different data analytics fields. In my free time I enjoy cycling, ice hockey, reading, and smoking fine cigars.

Senior Software DeveloperAutoprocessor Sep 2017 - Oct 2019Anaheim, California, UsAs a Sr. Software Engineer, I maintained and documented all aspects of our enterprise’s software serving the ticketing industry. I programmed heavily in C#, JavaScript, SQL, all three tiers. Primarily responsible for development in their customer-facing website. -
Senior Software Engineer (Contractor)Qtc Management - A Leidos Company Dec 2016 - Sep 2017San Dimas, California, UsAt QTC, I worked on our "EMS" project that facilitates two-way communication between QTC and the VA as veterans rotate off-duty and need to get medical examinations and evaluations. For the second part of my contract I rolled out a coding framework - a group of C# libraries put together by our consultant - to the developer teams. I was the sole developer on the team that managed this process and we put together the procedures for releases, demo code, and documentation, as well as adding new features every sprint, so that our teams could start reusing best-practices code to do their common tasks instead of reinventing the wheel each time. -
Software Developer (Contractor)Autoprocessor Jan 2016 - Nov 2016Anaheim, California, UsFocusing on the secondary ticket market, I worked with Autoprocessor to manage end-to-end development on a new customer-facing website that integrated several of AP's existing and a few new products into a single site powered by ASP.Net MVC and AngularJs. While my responsibilities were pretty tightly focused on the front-end Angular/MVC, I occasionally needed to jump into the middle and third tiers, as well.I also did some work on a non-Angular internal administrative web application that manages aspects of purchasing, selling, listing and delivering tickets to events for us and our customers. My focus was on the creation of a shipping module that interacted with UPS and FedEx web services to generate and track airbills between our customers.Other technologies that one or both of these websites utilized included Kendo UI controls (primarily their grid), SASS, log4net, MVC, C# 5 & 6, TFS, and Entity Framework. -
Senior Application DeveloperRedwood Logistics Mar 2014 - Dec 2015Chicago, Illinois, UsAs an application developer for Redwood/TSE I maintained and upgraded existing web and Winform applications and WCF services, and designed and built new subsystems such as an exception handler and an email service, both of which would be used by our other internal applications. Using Git extensively and Atlassian's tools such as JIRA, Stash, SourceTree and Crucible, my team used a Kanban and later an Agile methodology to quickly respond to the needs of our user base (both internal and external). Working with a codebase comprised of 50+ different projects, my team members and I worked independently and often collaboratively on all of them, working defect fixes and adding new features, then working with our QA team to test and release them, from start to finish. As a team member with an enterprise background I also championed best practices and more thorough development through the use of logging, documentation, database projects, version control of configurations, and unit testing.-----About Redwood: Redwood Logistics, formerly Transportation Solutions Enterprises, underwent a rebranding effort in January of 2015 to better position the companies for future growth. The Redwood family of companies includes Redwood Multimodal, a freight brokerage company; Redwood Supply Chain Solutions, a technology powered freight management company; Redwood Distribution, a warehousing and freight forwarding company; and Freight Exchange, an asset-based full truckload, dry van carrier. Today, the Redwood family of companies employs over 300 people, operates across multiple states, and is slated to move and manage over $500 million in freight in 2015. -
