I have been transplanted to numerous cities after being born in Frankfurt, Germany (Dad in the Army same unit as Elvis). I grew up mostly in Iowa, (one year in Chicago) and Nebraska. I headed to Colorado for school at the United States Air Force Academy (Tom Harkin nominee) and pilot training in Mississippi where I met and married my Southern Belle – Jennifer. We toured the Air Force world; Little Rock, Japan, Korea, Mississippi, Hawaii, Florida, and back to Mississippi. Civilian life then led us to Colorado for 12 years. After meeting some outstanding “American Heroes” at the 240th CEF ANG in 2009, I answered the ‘call of duty’ again, and applied to the Air National Guard. A year and two waivers later, I was accepted, six months later I was in the “Green Zone” Baghdad, Iraq ducking rocket attacks and rebuilding the city at 51 years old, the ‘oldest’ Captain in the Air Force! I rekindled my passion of serving and it is my honor to continue to serve my country today at the National Guard Bureau as a Civil Engineer Programmer, ANGRC Commander Executive Officer. Formerly a CE Programmer at ANGRC Andrews AFB, with responsibilities at 136 locations in 54 states, territories with 8900 civil engineers, and $4B in infrastructure. DPW Director Kuwait Area Support Group managing $250M operating budget with over $300M in construction. Coordinated closely with Kuwaiti Ministries of Electricity, Water and Environment.
