As an Engineer at Elementa I had the chance to touch on multiple projects across a variety of sectors; education, healthcare, residential, commercial, retail which allow me to continue to build my skills in building services mechanical design. One of my responsibilities was to perform Part L calculations on or projects to ensure that they comply with Government Environmental regulations. These simulations, performed using IES software, allowed us to determine the building's performance when Low Carbon renewable technologies were applied and provided us with the ability to assess the feasibility of the various options such as PV panels, solar heating, ASHP and CHP.The multidisciplinary nature of the building services industry has proved to be an ideal environment to learn and to build relationships with various stakeholders and other professionals.
