As soon as I entered primary school I was drawing on ever piece of non vital paper that I could possibly, constantly creating whether it was with a paintbrush or a pencil, I just wanted to create. I was lucky enough to have been born into a family who were enthusiastic about cars. My parents would regularly take me around car museums and showrooms with my father explaining more about the vehicles, he himself was introduced similarly by his father and so passed on this knowledge and enthusiasm to me. It was when I was eight that I really decided I wanted to become an Automotive Designer, my two biggest passions at the time were cars and art so it seemed only natural to combine them. An enthusiastic eight year old me started sketching cars every day, obtaining a design degree was planned from then onwards with my entire family supporting me with this idea. Many others expected me, like any other eight year old, to change my career path and loose interest. I was an avid rugby player, horse rider and interested in maths so my teachers expected me to choose a path along those lines. I stuck to my path and chose the subjects I believed would best serve me best for my future as well as meet requirements for university entry. During my fourth year at grammar school, I started to reach out to universities about the Automotive and Transport degrees they ran. Having taken time out of school to visit three in the UK, I was lucky enough be granted an unconditional by Staffordshire University where I would go on to study Transport Design. I believed, and continue to believe, that the best way for me to develop as a designer was to open myself up to new opportunities hence I chose to study Transport design.My time at university was spent exploring new and exciting modes of transportation, some of these were created as briefs for clients in industry such as: JCB, Bombardier and Michelin. The opportunities to not only work with clients but to also fully realise concepts either by clay or facsimile modelling or in CAD were super exciting, having only briefly touched about these during grammar school, and something I attempted to learn as much about. My final year was the most difficult by far but without loosing sight of what I wanted, I graduated with a 1:1 from Staffordshire University. Since my graduation I have followed my passion and opened up even more in an attempt to continue learning, taking on Graphic Design and Illustration projects as a freelance designer with the continued goal of obtaining a full time position.
