Michael is the founder and former CEO of Plan Administrators, Inc. (PAi). Based in De Pere, WI, PAi provides retirement plan recordkeeping and administration services to more than fifteen thousand small and mid-sized 401(k) plans nationwide.At an early age, Michael watched a news story reported by Irving R. Levine about a Pennsylvania brick factory closure that caused the surrender of their pension plan, leaving older workers without their promised benefit; this was alarming to Michael. Shortly thereafter, the problem hit home. Michael watched as his 62 year old father was denied his pension. Consequently, he was forced to return to the workforce for another 20 years. Since then, Michael has been committed to simplifying retirement plans so that no one suffers the same fate.Michael views this as a societal problem and believes that a strong private pension system is a key component of a strong society - a society that skillfully manages the gap between the haves and the have-nots. He has looked beyond his own backyard for answers and ideas by participating in economic studies and panels with teams of experts around the world.As an expert and visionary in his field, Michael testified before the U.S. Senate Aging Committee speaking in favor of retirement plan fee disclosure. Michael has worked with Capitol Hill and various agencies of the executive branch of the federal government for the last 25 years.Michael is a motorsports enthusiast. Motorsports is also a part of PAi’s culture; it’s a key sponsor of team Rally Pan Am, the only American motorcycle privateer team to compete in the Dakar Rally for a number of years.When he’s not constructing new paths to retirement, Michael can be found at home in Green Bay, WI with his wife and their seven children.
