I am an international security P&L leader with extensive experience in security strategy, risk management, intelligence and crisis management for top-tier global employers across the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. In 2022 I was appointed to lead the Global Security team at Emerson. My role is to promote effectiveness, efficiency and operational agility amongst the team, and in the context of a fast-changing company that has a wide and diverse geographic footprint and that supports a significant number of critical industries. My career began in the New Zealand national security community, where I worked in analytical, operational and advisory positions, including three years advising the New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark. In 2012 I moved into the corporate sector, initially as a risk consultant with the high-tech steel company Vallourec, where I built robust, best practice security frameworks from the ground up, including a high-impact risk-based programme that countered intellectual property theft. Since 2016 I have played a lead role in the development of a market-leading security strategy at Emerson, creating effective security risk and crisis management approaches across the Middle East, Africa and India. Many of my biggest career achievements have come from adapting with agility to complex problems, capitalising on my background in intelligence and political analysis to optimise decision-making across global environments. Combining in-depth and expert crisis management methodologies with wide-ranging, real-world experience in high-risk and rapidly evolving situations, I act as a strategic ‘trusted advisor’ and political analyst who can influence at the highest level.Specialties:♦ Security Strategy, Security Programmes, Crisis Management, Security Risk.♦ Security Frameworks, Risk Assessments, Intelligence, Budgets, Operations.♦ Team Leadership, Coaching, Mentoring, Talent Development.♦ Government Affairs, Intelligence, Political Analysis, Strategic Advisory.
