Imagine going to your doctor & having your physician encourage you to eat a diet consisting predominantly of whole-plant foods. What a different medical system we would have! What a healthier society & a healthier planet we would have! Making this dream a reality is my main passion & I need your help to make it come true. My goal is to reach as many medical students as possible with this hopeful, empowering message:“The majority of diseases you will spend most of your careers treating are largely caused by the Standard American Diet, laden with meats, dairy, oils, refined sugars & processed foods. Fortunately, a diet based upon whole plant foods predictably improves & often, completely reverses these maladies! If you want to truly heal your patients instead of just ‘managing’ their chronic diseases, then, learn to use plant-predominant nutrition as the foundation of your therapy programs.”​For the past year, I have been delivering precisely that message through my live presentation, “What I Wish I Learned in Medical School About Nutrition.” At each institution, the reviews my talk receives have been universally positive. I give written & online resources to further educate themselves about plant-based nutrition & to be reassured that the science behind these dramatic health transformations is valid & growing. They will start to see clinical medicine through the “plant-based lens” & it will affect their practices. Each of these young physicians will influence thousands of patients & hundreds of medical colleagues over the course of their careers through their clinical successes & their personal example. This is how a profession, like medicine, is helped to evolve & this is how society evolves, as well.
