We have a full joinery operation and have been very involved in research and development of the counter components of some of our clients’ corporate images. We develop the prototypes of computerised design drawings which feed into our Computerised Numerical Control (CNC) cutting machines.

I am the Operations Director responsible for the management of day-to-day operations including Finance, Human Resources, Contracts and Administration. I also manage all internal and external IT related projects for Khulisa. I am a specialist in monitoring and evaluation and information systems design. I started my career in development in Southern Africa in 1986 focusing on education, refugee assistance, and social and economic development projects. While at Khulisa, I have experience designing management information systems, conducting needs assessments and feasibility studies, project management, monitoring and evaluation, cash flow and cost analysis, accounting, training and report writing. In the last 10 years, when I am not running the company's operations, I have been managing large IT projects that include the PEPFAR South Africa Data Warehouse and the Performance Information Management System for the Department of Science and Technology.

I managed and administered the Canada Fund, the UNHCR Education Assistance Programme, and the WUSC Student Refugee Programme. The Canada Fund was a Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) programme designed to finance small projects providing technical, economic, educational, cultural or social development in Swaziland. The Canada Fund places emphasis on projects which involve women in development, environmental conservation, and, in general, sustainable development.The UNHCR Education Assistance Programme provided scholarships and support for the education of refugee children in Swaziland at the Day Care/Pre-Primary, rural/urban Primary and Secondary school levels through an annual budget which exceeds US$230,000. The refugee children came from war torn Mozambique as well as tribal conflicts in KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa.The WUSC Student Refugee Programme assisted refugees who had been given political asylum in Swaziland by helping them to obtain landed immigrant status in Canada and sponsorship for one year at a Canadian university. Most of the refugees originated from strife torn African countries such as Rwanda, Zaire, and Somalia.

I worked on projects that included regression analyses for phase cost models in the forestry industry, forecasting company sales, assisting in litigation cases to determine loss of profits, economic modelling for British Columbia Hydro, and preliminary resampling studies for the Ministry of Forests.I prepared departmental presentations, and contributed to and edited the periodic Price Waterhouse "Statistics Bulletin" newsletter using desktop publishing skills.
