Preset was a mindset training app that taught strategies from performance psychology that could be used to advance at work, make more money, or scale your side hustle.The motivation content industry is enormous, and it seemed that the market was ready for a science-based, high-quality approach. We pulled together a group of mobile video geniuses, Emmy-award winning TV writers, psychologists from Stanford, top-notch designers and devs, and some of the best-regarded coaches in the world, and started building. Along the way, we reviewed hundreds (or maybe even thousands) of academic papers, books, and videos on motivation. We iterated relentlessly on our content – running a casting call for hundreds of potential actors, and eventually relying on AI techniques, like RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) and voice cloning, to create the Preset content library and custom content for each user.Preset users used the app to help them get ahead at work, train for marathons and other races, battle addiction, get out of bad relationships and into good ones, and more. Preset was shut down at the end of 2023.

For example-- reporting to track shipping damage, stock status in our warehouse, credits due to the company, and inventory across our network of suppliers. Responsibilities span the entire lifecycle of a reporting project-- meet with business users to scope out requirements, coordinate with the database team to ensure data flow, and code, assemble and QA the reports.

Taught myself Python (turbogears) and built an off-shore data entry team. My pitch was: Empty day planners are useless, and paper planners don't fit into the modern student's workflow. Syllaplus.com uses student syllabi to provide a browser-based, iPhone, and email interface for managing students' academic obligations.
