The Geekdom Fancast is a conversational pop-culture podcast I produce, edit, and co-host. Now with over 150+ episodes we have reviewed movies, television shows, various fan conventions, and have had conversations with performers such as the cast of the 2020’s Academy Award Winning Best Picture Parasite, writers and producers like former Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D writer and Midnight Texas showrunner Monica-Owusu Breen, and even entertainment journalists like TV Guide Magazine’s Damian Holbrook.My duties include:-Recording, or managing the capture of, all the audio for the podcast using multi-channel soundboards, various microphones, and software solutions for remote guests and/or hosts via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, or mobile phone-Working with my podcasting co-host to conceptualize the premise of the episode, then going on to develop the structure of the conversation, and ultimately hosting the episode including subject introductions, transitions, interview questions when applicable, and standard self-, and various guest, promotions -Engineering the best possible sound during recording via the soundboard and Adobe Audition by adjusting levels, compression, reverb, etc.-Using software like Adobe Audition to edit the podcast, taking out all unnecessary audio, fixing audio issues, mixing the various channels of remote guests, downloading and inserting audio drops, and trimming for time and flow-Managing the podcast RSS feed via the podcast host by uploading the completed audio file, creating all titles and podcast descriptions, post scheduling, and tagging with keywords-Creating and scheduling the initial episode posts on Twitter and Facebook, including key wording, related images, and fun, yet informative, copy

God Hates Geeks is a pop-culture blog run by a diverse collective of fans of comic books, video games, wrestling, movies, and television. Content includes a twice-a-week update of reviews of the latest comic book #1s, written film and television reviews, and coverage of most of the major fan conventions including San Diego Comic-Con, E3, New York Comic-Con, Gamescom, and more. Occasionally GHG produces video reviews and podcasts - most recently The Geekdom Gamescast, a twice-a-month podcast and YouTube show about video games produced in conjunction with The Geekdom Fancast.My contributions to God Hates Geeks include:-Review writer for various movies, television shows, and video games. Reviews range from full-length solo reviews to “Face-Off” reviews where multiple contributors are given a few paragraphs each to cover different aspects or arguments in a single piece of criticism-Convention coverage for San Diego Comic-Con, E3, and various other events that include panel reviews, overall experience pieces, or even news items -Producer and editor for various one-off podcasts that were released on the site, sometimes in conjunction with The Geekdom Fancast, focusing on the major conventions, major film releases, and one-off “Best of the Year” episodes-Co-creator, co-producer, and host of The Geekdom Gamescast - a twice-a-month show that is released on the God Hates Geeks YouTube channel, as a video on GodHatesGeeks.com, and as an alternative format on The Geekdom Fancast podcast feed.
