The cookstove is expected to reduce the amount of wood necessary to cook the daily meals for over 100 children by 50%.• Solar system installation - Bogalay: Helped lead the installation of a 320 watt solar system and a 150 amp-hour battery, and interconnect it to an existing diesel generator on an island owned and operated by Mangrove Service Network (MSN). The integrated system provides power for lights and AV equipment to conduct trainings on an island in the Ayerwaddy Delta region. MSN educates attendees on environmental conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources.• Solar training and micro solar system deployment - Kan Daw: Conducted a 3-day training on solar energy for a group of locals in a rural village in southern Myanmar, which has been off-limits to tourists for decades. Helped install a micro solar system in the village meeting place - a handmade bamboo hut - which will enable community events after dark. Solar Roots donated 10 additional micro solar systems to families in the community.
