I'm a senior .net developer and MS SQL DBA, with project management and mentoring experience. I've ran my own business and worked for multinational corporations with thousands of employees. I am very interested in disruptive technologies, especially blockchain and the competitive advantages it can provide in the right scenarios.I love traveling for work and meeting customers (internal or external) face-to-face to really understand their processes, challenges, and needs.Having spent my professional career divided in IT roles for ATM production, newborn screening life sciences, and gambling, I am equally at home working in manufacturing, healthcare, or gaming industries.

Sr . Software Integration EngineerPerkinelmer, Inc. Aug 2013 - Jan 2022Shelton, Ct, Us Subject matter expert in programming and database standards for software used at Newborn Screening (NBS) programs at most laboratories across the Americas. Lead Software Engineer on many domestic and international NBS Program LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) projects. I had direct interaction with the leadership teams (PhD’s, MD’s, & C-level) of the labs. Preemptively initiated discussions to avert catastrophic system failure in customer sites by launching performance metrics programs and database optimization projects. Mentored junior engineers and organized/led technical knowledge share sessions on a regular basis. Performed both SQL and C# code-reviews for other engineers and Biomedical Engineering CO-Ops. Encouraged other engineers to pursue continued education. Authored product enhancements which were sent to R&D for future release in the product. Rewrote several reports (in SSRS) to improve efficiency, prevent erroneous results, and standardize implementation. Participate in daily standups and bi-weekly Agile sprint planning meetings. Wrote custom user controls and CLR assemblies for zipping files and importing/exporting XML into/out of SQL. Wrote many stored procedures, views, database objects/user defined types, and implemented custom error handling. Chosen to travel to Washington, DC to represent PerkinElmer’s Software Services team in NewSTEPs (https://www.newsteps.org/) 360 initiative to assist in the standardization of metrics gathered by laboratories to rate hospital and physician performance and the effectivity of the NBS programs. Nominated by my superiors for several recognition awards and won the team’s Most Valuable Teammate award which is voted on by peers; consideration was amongst teammates that have been at our company for over 20 years. Traveled to customer sites domestically and internationally (25%-40%). -
Software Architect And EngineerIothombre, Llc Apr 2017 - Jan 2022 Started this company to develop gaming software for the skill game room industry and provide software engineering/SQL DBA consulting services. Was the sole person responsible for reverse engineering several popular games and creating ‘legal’ C#/WPF/SQL versions of those games that utilized Pre-Reveal features to be compliant with state laws. Reverse engineered hardware and logic of Class III slot machines to allow retrofit of existing illegal slot machines with new skill-based hardware/software. Worked with hackers who were breaking into similar technology to learn how to secure mine. Locked down my products to prevent piracy using a combination of Preemptive Protection’s Dotfuscator tool and Keylok’s security dongle technology. Configured and optimized SQL Server and Window’s group policy settings. Technical highlights of the platform include: Complex animation management - up to 11 different animation threads firing concurrently Complex background logic - several different threads running in the background simultaneously managing the display of the current ‘spin’, security features, and the calculation of the next spin. Robust error reporting system to log Windows or SQL issues within the application. Built tool to prepopulate and randomize 8 million wins for one version of the game. Performed exploratory programming and breadboarding using Arduinos to drive LCDs, servos, and LED lighting. Taught myself Unity to create new game concepts in more modern platform. Taught myself Photoshop and video editing software to develop promotional material. Managed the sourcing and deliverables of several outside animators for different projects. Developed a service that would connect to an online cryptocurrency exchange (GDAX) and perform unmonitored trades. Instructed junior engineers (and the engineering manager) at a client on better error handling and coding practices in their T-SQL scripts and VB.net code.

Created Windows service to extract order information from Oracle and Baan to validate shipments between locations. Maintained all production SSRS reports. Target audience ranged from floor supervisors to senior management. DBA for global manufacturing databases. Analyzed execution plans and setup replication from multi-tiered DMZ’s in manufacturing and logistics facilities globally to reporting center in North Canton. Supported global manufacturing execution system (MES) by fixing bugs and performing new development for a suite of four different custom applications on over 350 manufacturing pc’s across the globe. Developed Flex-Line manufacturing station which allows multiple stations to be presented on a single work location in the factory. Developed instant messenger program using TCP/IP Network Stream to send material requests to warehouse staff. Developed Engineering Change (EC) application using Silverlight with JSON web services. Used by EC coordinators globally to monitor the release of 150+ ECs weekly. Reduced work hours by 200% and was nominated for Smart Business 300 challenge. Disaster Recovery (DR) point of contact for our group. Developed DR plan and helped guide other groups within Supply Chain Engineering. Trained and guided interns. Programmer AnalystHaines Corporation Mar 2009 - May 2010 Built ASP.NET intranet web application for B2B and B2C direct marketing activities. Application builds complex T-SQL queries based on many user selected criteria. The query is run on a national residential MySQL database with over 75 million records. Utilized several AJAX enabled controls to improve efficiency, as well as customized the css files to provide a unique look. Implemented tools to allow the user to customize their experience by storing personal preference information about site news updates, etc. Wrote a custom process to allow the user to send a dynamically populated confirmation email with HTML content to their customers, minimizing wasted time opening their email client and copy/paste or re-typing Excel data. Updated web pages with expression validators to prevent SQL injection attacks. As a precursor to the actual writing of code, I developed cross functional flow charts depicting the revisions to business processes the new software would create. Authored windows service which connected to database on remote server and gathered order details entered by outside customers. That data was pulled into our local database and used to populate internal salesperson’s accounts. This populated over 1500 orders in its first week of operation and represented a savings of approximately 6 minutes of manual order entry labor per order.
