About Michael S. Levine
Michael Levine is a nationally recognized educator of analytical thinking and writing skills. Passionate about guiding professionals toward satisfying careers, he specializes in bridging the gap between lawyering skills and client needs. Experience as a litigator, mediator, and educator helps him create practical training opportunities -- where learning objectives match audience and purpose, exercises promote self-directed learning, and collaboration is valued.Since 1996, Michael has served as the Executive Director of Lawrite Consulting. Lawrite trains attorneys, professionals, and law students in legal and business writing, professional identity formation, and essay exam prep. Lawrite coordinates with professional development personnel to design workshop and individual coaching solutions that embrace critical thinking, structural paradigms, reader-centric style conventions, revision techniques, and relationship building skills. His experience as a law firm training consultant proved especially relevant in designing a curriculum that places students in a simulated practice setting where they are challenged to solve client problems using core lawyering competencies, including project management and relationship building techniques. The Program elevates law school learning by promoting experiential training over theory which, in turns, generates student confidence and resiliency.Prior to joining GW, Michael practiced commercial litigation as a partner at Bromley, Greene & Walsh in Washington, DC. There, he managed associates and paralegals, participated in management and hiring activities, and mentored young professionals. Michael also is a certified court-appointed mediator, and a member of the Legal Writing Institute and the Association of American Law Schools.
