My name is Michael Lewis and I am currently employed at Geary Floors, Inc. as an Assistant Project Manager. My employment journey has been filled with learning experiences and opportunities that have allowed me to grow into my current role as an APM with a company that specializes in building/maintaining/repairing Basketball courts for various schools and recreation centers. In addition, I am blessed to be the active APM on quite a few high-scale community projects, such as reflooring the Copley Symphony Hall and flooring the brand new 465,000sq ft Gaylord resort in Chula Vista.My journey into Project Management began with my interest in personal financial advising. I became an independent advisor working independently through my friend's RIA, and while I loved helping my clients organize and plan for their financial future, I truly disliked the grind of constantly recruiting new clients. I slowly transitioned away from personal finance and dove into cooperate finance through my position as Administration Manager for G&S Enviroscapes, Inc. I was in charge of financial reporting, forecasting, and all other administrative duties unrelated to company finances, i.e. insurance applications, AP/AR, bookkeeping, and more. My role with G&S allowed me to be a part of all facets of a working corporation, giving me key insight into my next position as an Assistant Project Manager at Geary Floors, Inc.
