About Michael Lim
Some time ago, I got rejected for a sales position when I said I consistently made 150 cold calls a day. The hiring manager called me out and didn't believe me. He proceeded to say that he gets it because "sales people tend to put their best foot forward".I thought I'd change it up and share some less impressive things about myself. Some years ago, I flunked engineering school. Badly. Martial arts was a big part of my life and I lost in 3 world events and the European championships. I got diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a rare autoimmune disease that was said to be "incurable." My body was failing and I wanted to run away. So did.I left my hometown of Davao City, Philippines and made my way to Vancouver, Canada. In doing so, I left my dog, my twin brother, and basically everything I knew. I wanted to reinvent myself. I studied business in the prestigious British Columbia Institute of Technology where I won thousands of dollars worth of bursaries & awards and graduated with distinction. I involved myself in several sales-related roles and found something that was bigger than myself - the ability to empower individuals and organizations through turnkey solutions and human connection.Fast-forward to the present, I'm currently an account executive at CoPilot AI. I may not be an engineer or a world champion, but I have the pleasure of helping professionals scale their businesses through leading AI-powered tech.
